BLS CPR Instructor Monitoring in Edmonton

BLS CPR - Instructor Monitoring

To complete your BLS certification monitoring, you must teach a full BLS Provider course under the supervision of an HSF-certified BLS Experienced Instructor (EI) Monitor.

 
Heart and Stroke Foundation Requirements:
  • You have six months to complete your monitoring after you have passed the BLS Instructor in-class learning portion of your certification.

  • minimum of 3 students are required, and a maximum of 6 students are allowed for monitoring.

Instructor Monitoring Responsibilities:
  • Arrange a BLS provider course, and serve as your BLS instructor monitor, evaluating your performance.

  • Create a BLS course in the Heart & Stroke portal to ensure compliance

  • Provide an unbiased monitoring and feedback to the instructor using the Heart & Stroke provided monitoring form

Instructor Candidate Responsibilities:​
  • Instructor Candidate registration fees must be paid before course creation.

  • Provide a minimum of 3 students to ensure HSF requirements are met ($30/student)

  • Provide 72 hours notice for class re-scheduling (if necessary)

  • Arrive for the course 30-45 minutes prior to course start for set-up

 

Notes:

  • Should the Instructor Candidate need to reschedule the class, a $50 rescheduling fee will apply

BLS Instructor Re-Evaluation:

  • If the candidate is unsuccessful in their BLS Instructor evaluation, there are no refunds.

  • A re-evaluation can be scheduled for a fee of $100
